Welcome to OPTIONS Family of Services!

OPTIONS serves over 200 persons with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries each day in San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara Counties. We have been providing care and support to persons with disabilities in our community since 1984. One of those persons is Sean who has been with OPTIONS since 2008. Sean has worked hard to learn adaptive living skills to help him take better take care of himself and to live independently in his own apartment. He is an amazing artist and has had several art shows here locally. Sean has developed a greeting card line and is currently working on several new projects. He has also recently joined OPTIONS’ Board of Directors as a way to give back for the support and care he has been provided. Another person for whom OPTIONS has made a difference is Scott. Scott sustained a head injury a number of years ago and was severely injured. He is now living in his own apartment, participates at his church, volunteers at the library, takes art classes, attends the symphony whenever possible and enjoys spending time with his girlfriend. Despite their many challenges, both Scott and Sean are happy and enjoying their lives to the fullest and are an inspiration for all of us.

We are constantly reminded of how much we have to be thankful for. I ask that you consider making a donation to OPTIONS during this time of giving to make a difference in the lives of the persons we serve. We need your help. As a result of recent COVID-19 pandemic, OPTIONS is facing some fiscal challenges with some new laws and budget cuts that are being implemented. We are determined to meet those challenges despite our frozen rates. This year we are concerned that some of our services are in serious jeopardy. Unfunded services such as transportation to medical appointments, staffing for social and recreational opportunities for persons with traumatic brain injuries and paid work opportunities for persons in our day programs may be discontinued without help. Your generosity directly contributes to the quality of life afforded the disabled persons we serve. If you cannot contribute at this time, please keep us in mind for your gifting during the upcoming year. Thank you for helping us make a difference!

Sincerely,

Debbie Bertrando
