Welcome to OPTIONS Family of Services!
OPTIONS serves approximately 175 persons with a wide variety of intellectual disabilities, autism and traumatic brain injuries each day in San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties. Since 1984 we have provided a wide range of services to help meet the needs of those served in our community.
By having the continuum of services, we are able to meet people where they are at and they can stay with us as they continue to learn and develop skills. We provide a variety of residential programs, independent living skills programs, community based day programs, vocational services and just about everything in between. Recently we have added a new individualized day program in order to provide support to those looking for alternative services or shorter days. We have expanded our vocational opportunities and are offering paid internship programs to our persons served. We also have a new gardening and work program starting in collaboration with another non-profit at The Ranch. We have quite a bit going on!
The pandemic was difficult for all of us, but particularly for the persons we support who already have limited social interactions. We are looking at expanding our day services to San Luis Obispo and are working to create a fun Social Recreation Program in downtown San Luis Obispo this year. We have obtained a space to allow us to develop this new opportunity and help people connect in meaningful ways. If the program is funded, we will have clubs and activities to help people interact, have fun and even give back to the community.
We could use some help in creating these new social and recreational opportunities. We are looking for art supplies, new or gently used furniture such as couches, new yoga mats, chairs, tv's, an Xbox, PS4 and games or fun recreational items such as a pool table, a foosball table and pinball machines. Financial donations would certainly be appreciated! Your generosity will help make a difference in the lives of the persons we serve.
